Aparently it cant be done, but maybe theres another way of freeing space without using hardlinks..

Die (einzelnen) Titel jeder Station werden in einem separaten Verzeichnis gespeichert, weshalb mir nicht klar ist, wo genau das Problem ist.
Einzig die (eventuell vorhandene) Gesamtaufzeichnung erfolgt in einem gemeinsamen Verzeichnis, durch die Bezeichnung mit den Stationsnamen sind die Dateien jedoch gut zu unterscheiden und entsprechend nutzbar.

Worin soll der Nutzen liegen, einen weiteren Speicherort festlegen zu können?

Simply put the ability to store tracks in more than one harddrive due to lack of space to store all the streams tracks in a single drive.
