This issue arose after my computer lost power whilst Streamwriter was active. After restarting the computer I found that Streamwriter would notwork and I couldn't connect to Google in my web browser (Chrome). Windows suggested to check my anti-virus/firewall settings. I use Kaspersky Total Protection 2015 (on Windows 10). I was unable to find the cause but by disabling Kaspersky I could access Google again, then the problem cleared itself.

In Streamwriter, even with Kaspersky disabled, it will not download a stream list and I can't connect to any stream. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both the installable setup and the portable versions. I just get the following in the log screen:

10:11:20 - Server - Connected to streamWriter server
10:11:20 - Server - TLS handshake was not successful, certificate invalid
10:11:41 - Server - No data received/sent for more than 15 seconds
10:11:41 - Server - Disconnected from streamWriter server
10:11:46 - Server - Connected to streamWriter server
10:11:46 - Server - TLS handshake was not successful, certificate invalid
10:12:07 - Server - No data received/sent for more than 15 seconds
10:12:07 - Server - Disconnected from streamWriter server
10:12:12 - Server - Connected to streamWriter server
10:12:12 - Server - TLS handshake was not successful, certificate invalid
etc…

I feel now that this is a server issue and not a problem with my machine. Any help gratefully received!

SOLVED: Not a server issue. An unknown application/malware was blocking access to certain sites from my PC. Now working again!
