After each start of streamWriter I see message:
"The folder for saved songs does not exist"
When I select folder, appear one more message:
"The folder for automatically saved songs does not exist"
I select same folder.
streamWriter located in c:\PROGI\INET\Stream\
Folder for songs c:\PROGI\INET\Stream\rec\
But after exit program, I see in streamwriter_settings.ini
Dir=\rec\
DirAuto=\rec\
After start of program I have to select folders again.
I can write in streamwriter_settings.ini manually:
Dir=c:\PROGI\INET\Stream\rec\
DirAuto=c:\PROGI\INET\Stream\rec\
In this case I have normal start. But after exit I see again:
Dir=\rec\
DirAuto=\rec\

WinXP-SP2/SP3
v 5.4.0.1 build 730
I checked earlier builds: 715, 700, 681, 561 and have same problem.

If with first run of streamWriter I don't change default path, then everything alright, I see in streamwriter_settings.ini
Dir=..\..\..\Documents and settings\Admin\My documents\My Music\streamWriter\
DirAuto=..\..\..\Documents and settings\Admin\My documents\My Music\streamWriter\

If I change path to:
Dir=..\..\..\PROGI\INET\Stream\rec\
DirAuto=..\..\..\PROGI\INET\Stream\rec\
After exit program, I see in streamwriter_settings.ini again:
Dir=\rec\
DirAuto=\rec\

Hello Grishanenko,

Are you using WinXP in a Virtual-Machine or on real hardware ?
I have detected the same problems but only in Virtual-Machines (Virtual-Box)!
I have streamWriter many years used under WinXP there never problems with any folder path on real hardware.

Windows file system security settings can often be a problem…
You can check it with other folder path (owner folders)…

You can wait for Alex (author of streamwriter). He has only little time and is very rarely online here (Family/Kids/Job - i don't know). Officially he has stopped work on this project (there is no english info about this/only german thread: "Entwicklung angehalten"). It may be that he still eliminates small bugs, but it can take a very, very long time.

I will have a look at this but it can take a while. Usually the described things should only happen when using multiple streamWriter executables on the same computer that are located in different paths. The reason is that streamWriter tries to use relative paths when it is possible.
Example: streamwriter.exe is in D:\streamWriter\streamwriter.exe - when setting the path for saved songs to D:\Radio, streamWriter will save ..\Radio as Path. When streamWriter is located on C:\Programs\streamWriter\streamwriter.exe and you select D:\Radio for saved songs, it will save the absolute path because it's not possible to use a relative path then. When streamWriter first saves a relative path and afterwards streamWriter is executed from another location, it won't find the specified path.
LG/Best regards, Alex

I had the same problem when I tried putting the downloads folder on my desktop. I put the folder in My Documents with a shortcut on my desktop and it works fine.
