On a 24/7 basis I noticed a bug, due to which after a certain recorded stream size I get 0 byte files. Beautifully and correct named but empty though.
I noticed this on XP x86 (which I will abandon soon and Win7 x64.
This happens after ~48h, 408 Titles and/or >3,2GB StreamSize. I can not say that exactly, since some titles are skipped/ignored by default.
Idea (If I'm allowed to mention one :):
This could be avoided, if it is caused by some library-limitation under the hood, by stopping the record during a title found on ones ignore list and start refreshed writing to a new file.
As a workaround I could use scheduled recordings (to start stop?), but I might loose the recording of a title I was looking for in that time off-period.. But hey.. it works for most users around the world, I guess..

This is interesting, I don't know how this can happen but it seems like a serious bug to me. There are no library limitations and streamWriter should not use that much memory so that it hits a limit, also I'm pretty sure it would just crash when the 4GB limit for 32 Bit processes is reached. Could you please export your profile and post it here/mail it to me and tell me to which stream this problem applies? I could test it and see if I can find the problem. Thanks for your report . |
