* I see with the 5.0 update there is a new Streamwriter Start up Splash screen LOGO.

I liked the older one better> Can I adjust it to get the older Splashscreen LOGO?

* Can you make it available in preferences if possible in a future update?

Or can I modify it myself?

Hi!

I just checked it, you can modify it, but the modification won't survive updates.
Get Resource Editor, then get the newest streamWriter build 624 (older versions won't work). Open streamwriter.exe with the resource editor, then navigate to the folder "SPLASHIMAGE" in the category "RCDATA". In the image editor on the bottom just load another file (it has to be PNG!), save the exe and run streamWriter. The version information will always be written onto the image at runtime, this is the thing that cannot be changed. I appended the old splashimage to this post if you need it:-P

* OK, I went and tried the change with the latest 625 build instead of the 624> But Stream Writer stated it was corrupted?!*&^%#. ( I did not want to re-install Stream Writer because I have songs saved to be moved etc in the 625 build already installed)

* Question> I asume it should work normally if I download the 624 build and change the Splash screen from there THEN install the build> is that correct?

*Is the 625 build splash screen changeable as well?

* When there are certain updates do I have to re-install an older build and change the splash screen (if necessary?)

Thanks

If it says it is corrupted I think you did something wrong. Versions >= 624 have disabled integrity checking so it cannot say it is corrupted. I just tested it with the newest build, it works.

What do you mean by "install the build"? The build is just streamwriter.exe, you modify it by replacing the image, save it, and use it. When there is an update you open streamwriter.exe with the resource editor again and replace the image again. Don't install an older build. You can modify all builds published from now on, so 625, 626, etc. can be edited regarding the splash image.

*That's weird, I went to the Program Files x86 folder Stream Writers .exe launch file, took that file and placed inside Resource editor> Changed the Splash screen…then I saved it in resource editor.

When I finished I went to launch stream writer and it said it got corrupted> there was another file in stream writers folder a .DLL and a backup.exe . Not sure what they where, I restored my system after this and the issue disapeared.

I will re-try it again, good to know it can be done with any build if necessary.

Let me know if it works, it has to work when using a build >= 624.
Maybe somebody else reading this could try changing the splash-image of their streamwriter.exe-executable and report back? I would really appreciate it because it might help resolving the problem, if there is any…
