I just checked it, you can modify it, but the modification won't survive updates.
Get Resource Editor, then get the newest streamWriter build 624 (older versions won't work). Open streamwriter.exe with the resource editor, then navigate to the folder "SPLASHIMAGE" in the category "RCDATA". In the image editor on the bottom just load another file (it has to be PNG!), save the exe and run streamWriter. The version information will always be written onto the image at runtime, this is the thing that cannot be changed. I appended the old splashimage to this post if you need it … | | |

If it says it is corrupted I think you did something wrong. Versions >= 624 have disabled integrity checking so it cannot say it is corrupted. I just tested it with the newest build, it works.

What do you mean by "install the build"? The build is just streamwriter.exe, you modify it by replacing the image, save it, and use it. When there is an update you open streamwriter.exe with the resource editor again and replace the image again. Don't install an older build. You can modify all builds published from now on, so 625, 626, etc. can be edited regarding the splash image. |

When I finished I went to launch stream writer and it said it got corrupted> there was another file in stream writers folder a .DLL and a backup.exe . Not sure what they where, I restored my system after this and the issue disapeared.
I will re-try it again, good to know it can be done with any build if necessary. |
