alex, when you try and set up streamwriter for an account that is not an admin (in windows), there's a problem with streamwriter not being able to update the registry with the folder locations and maybe other settings..even if i have clicked save data to app folder, i thought this would make it portable but it doesn't!

i want to setup a restricted user for this..

I will investigate everything mentioned here when I have the time to do so which may be next week.

I cannot reproduce this, tested on a clean XP install with an unprivileged user account (from "Users" group) using portable and installed mode. Are you using another OS?

aah yes w7, unfortunately..

it's cos i got an non-intel ssd on it, a plextor 256gb and i need w7 trim functions to keep the ssd running smooth ^^

if it wasn't for bf3 or the ssd i would never have gone to w7!

I just tested it using Windows 7 with a regular user account, installed and portable. I cannot reproduce the problem, so I am a little stuck here..
