Would it be possible to specify in StreamWritter as well smaller buffer sizes so that there's no noise but at the same time the buffer goes unnoticed when playing tracks continuously?

For me it would mean I would be able to listen separated tracks in order without that repetition "like if it were the stream file" and/or without that little noise on tracks changes (when buffer=0). If this is totally no-sense, please let me know ;) I can self moderate myself!
Thanks in advanced, Marc |

I try to describe your problem in my words so that I don't get you wrong: A) You set the field "If no silence was found, append buffer to start/end:" to 0. You record the stream and there are unwanted noises. B) You set the field "If no silence was found, append buffer to start/end:" to 1. You record the stream and everything is okay.
Is that what you mean? Of course I could change the field type from "seconds" to "milliseconds", but I am wondering what makes these problems occur. Is the stream you are referencing to MP3 or AAC? Does it happen everytime on every stream or just sometimes on a specific stream? Are any post-processors enabled for the stream?
Sorry for my late reply! |

If we get into whats the cause, I checked the waveform in Adobe Audition of both, separated tracks without buffer and the stream file. Well, what I found was that StreamWritter actually saved pretty well the separated tracks. There's a rough 0,052 sec cut in between two separated tracks. Here's an screenshot to give a better look.
You can see also that the first frames of the second track are silence.
One detail that called my attention is that, in the beginning of the tracks right after the initial silence the wave grows progressively from silence, while in the end, it ends abruptly. Perhaps it could end progressively as well, so that the end of the track ends in silence and the beginning of the next one starts in silence, which would be sort of a perfect* mix.

I can't tell if the noise happens always, sometimes is very subtle others more notorious, and others I can't hear any noise. So far I've noticed in several streams, but is easier to spot it on downtempo stations. |

This seems to be a bit complicated and I have to admit that I do not have the time to look at it in detail at the moment. I will change the mentioned "buffer" field to milliseconds, I hope it helps you. If it doesn't you are welcome to post here again. The next version will be available in some hours if everything works as expected. |
