As a general procedure I keep all my recorded material from all source on an external HDD. Now I began using STREAMWRITER and have copied from the STREAM WRITER directory to that HDD all the saved songs, and then proceeded to delete them in the STREAM WRITER directory. Is this correct and acceptable? Will they cause any problems with STREAM WRITER? What is the recommended way to work with STREAMWRITER in this regard?

This is no problem. The only thing is that the moved files disappear from the "Saved tracks"-tab because streamWriter does not know where they are located afterwards, but if you don't use that view, it does not really matter.
