can we have the option of choosing where the streams are recorded to?
at the moment it's forced to C:\Users\(user)\Music\streamWriter

This option is already there.
Go to menu File –-> Settings. In the "Settings" window click on "Streams" on the left side and there you have two input fields at the top to specify your desired directory for the recorded streams.
First one is for the "normal" streams that are recorded by dragging and dropping them into the list at the Streams-tab or by double-clicking on the stations in the browser.
The second one is for the songs you have put on your wishlist.
